Back To School - Why it's important to get your child's school shoes right.

Children spend more time in their school shoes than any other footwear - if a pair of school shoes lasts half a school year then this equates to over 700 hours of wear! This means that they need to be the perfect fit.

We fit all of our school shoes with safe growing room. A pair of school shoes should withstand normal growth spurts and should last for approx six months (nothwithstanding misuse or those who are naturally heavier on their feet - in this case you may find the shoe wears out before it is outgrown)

As your child gets older and growth slows down you may even start to get an entire school year out of one pair if they are looked after well - think of that as a bonus!

It is not advisable to buy shoes which are too big with the hope that they will last longer. Shoes which are too big will cause problems for your child's feet - they will be dangerous for a start, as your child will be more likely to trip. They will also cause blisters as they will rub at the back, as well as causing other long term foot conditions.
